T O P I C R E V I E WVirgo-AriesArtistShould I assume it's just an infection and let it run it's course? The liquid in the eye is now dried, but she keeps the eye 1/3 closed and I am concerned as to whether it's serious enough to go to the vet...Any suggestions?-------------------K"Most people love with restraintAs if they were someday to hateWe hated gently, carefullyAs if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at MidnightNephthysYES it is definitely serious enough to go to the Vet. She needs an antibiotic eye ointment. There could be a small object in there, she could have also cut her eye, or it is just infected. Either way, she needs to go to the Vet ASAP. In the current issue of Whole Dog Journal, they write all about the eye, and anything like you said is means for taking to the Vet right away.Good Luck Virgo-AriesArtistOooh....that does sound serious. My mom is still a week or so from starting a new job after being unemployed for almost a year so money is still very tight. How can we get my kitty seen for low cost or delayed payment? Would the Humane Society work? I heard they offer payment plans for emergency pet health visits....-------------------K"Most people love with restraintAs if they were someday to hateWe hated gently, carefullyAs if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at MidnightLibraSparkleNot sure if it's a National program or not, but ...My kitty got attacked by a coyote about a year ago. The bite absessed... it was disgusting...Anyhow, the vet put me in contact with an organization called JAWS who paid for all of her medication. All I had to pay for was the $20 office visit. The vet should be able to help you out. Just call 'em up and tell them the situation and that you don't have the funds...They love animals too I'm sure they don't want your kitty to suffer either.LibraSparkle NephthysCall your local Humane Society, they can refer you to a low-cost Veterinary clinic in your area. Many Vets can also set you up with payment plans. Please don't delay! AnonVirgo-AriesArtistThanks for asking, you guys....Well, Mademoiselle Belle (hey, I address her in French, what can I say ) is much much better. Actually, although it wasn't the best planning on my part, I didn't get a chance to even think about taking her to the vet until about 3 days ago, and by then, it had completely dried up, and she was blinking and using her eye normally.I'm probably a very negligent momma to her...::looks down in shame::I know I should've jumped on this issue sooner, still I'm relieved it cleared up on its own.-------------------K"Most people love with restraintAs if they were someday to hateWe hated gently, carefullyAs if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight
